On Saturday, Doncaster beat Salford to advance to the quarter-finals of the 2026 1895 Cup.

Richard Horne's side ran in six first half tries thanks to braces from Edene Gebbie and Tom Holmes, as well as Watson Boas and Luis Johnson efforts.

Further second half tries from Holmes, Sam Smeaton, Suaia Matagi and a James Glover brace well and truly took the game away from the visitors and secured the Dons' place in the last eight.

Sunday saw six ties play out, where they were some hefty score-lines.

Goole Vikings posted 40 unanswered points on Whitehaven to progress to the next round. This included doubles from Shane Tuohey and Connor Barley.

Oldham had eleven different try scorers on the sheet when they faced Hunslet. Matty Ashurst, Jaron Purcell, Cole Geyer, Jake Bibby (x2), Tom Nisbet, Bayley Liu, Riley Dean, Ben Davies, Owen Farnworth, Luke Thomas, and Ryan Lannon all played their role in the Roughyeds’ success.

Meanwhile, a relentless London Broncos continued their bid for silverware with a convincing win over Keighley Cougars in the capital, whilst Nathan Connell’s hat-trick inspired Widnes Vikings to a second successive victory over Dewsbury Rams.

Four tries from Brad Ward helped Newcastle Thunder on their way against Batley Bulldogs in a closer contest, whilst inaugural 1895 Cup winners Sheffield Eagles fell short to Rochdale Hornets after initially leading 10-0.

Following Sheffield’s exit from the competition, this has confirmed that there will be another new name on the trophy this year, which would make it seven different winners in seven different finals.
